Nutrition is in the spotlight!
It is rapidly becoming a key element in 21st Century life.
In the UK obesity has risen threefold in the last 20 years and is set to increase fivefold in next 8 years, with 50%
of the population already overweight, and 26% obese (House of Commons Health Committee Enquiry, April
2003). Schools are now being obliged to provide healthy food options for our children, and associated teaching
on the subject. But, as an adult, in today’s society with all the advertising from organisations with vested
interests, and all the conflicting statements like those above, just where do you go for advice and assistance?

So just what is a healthy diet? For a possible answer to that question read our next article.
However, their advice is highly generalised, and you will have to decipher and interpret it, and apply it to your own situation. We
believe that everyone is a unique entity with quite personalised needs even when it comes to your diet. What would really help is
food plan suited to your own unique requirements. But where to go?

But, before we answer that, first try these questions:
  • Do you suffer from cravings, hunger, tiredness, and energy slumps?
  • Do you have allergies, asthma, eczema, dandruff, rashes, or other skin conditions?
  • Are you plagued with digestive issues like bloating, excessive flatulence, irritable bowel syndrome, abdominal cramps,
    stomach ulcers, constipation, and diarrhoea?
  • Is your work or sporting performance poor?
  • Do you find that you are unable to shift weight easily?
  • Do you have arthritis, joint aches and pains, or myalgia?
  • Do you regularly have niggling health complaints such as headaches/migraines, coughs, colds, and flu?
  • Have you ever been told that your blood pressure or blood cholesterol is high?
  • Are you unable to concentrate for long periods?
  • Does your mind get foggy and hazy or memory erratic?
  • Do you have daytime fatigue or difficulty sleeping at night?
  • Are you anxious, irritable, or your moods unstable?

Maybe you have other deeper-seated health problems that have not responded well to conventional medicine. Possibly you are
an athlete looking to get that extra edge over the competition. Or you could just be concerned with achieving a healthy lifestyle
but don’t know where to turn to for advice.

It is a fact that many of the above symptoms can miraculously disappear when you start eating foods that are suited to your
body! Research and clinical experience clearly demonstrate that each person requires an individualised diet plan in order to be truly
successful.  Everybody is unique. We all need different foods to be healthy, feel good and achieve our optimal weight. The one
size fits all diet doesn’t work for everyone!  Many people struggle with diets because they simply don’t eat the right diet for their
body. Individualised Dietary Planning takes the guesswork out of healthy eating. Using a comprehensive personal assessment that
identifies your requirements and utilising sound nutritional and lifestyle principles, this type of planning can advise you on exactly
which foods to eat and which to avoid.
